Little Lambs Christian Preschool

Our Mission:

It is our mission to provide the finest in early childhood education, to prepare your child for Kindergarten and to  direct attention to moral values through a focused Christian educational program.

Our Mission

Little Lambs Christian Preschool at High View Church of God is a Mission Outreach the Lord has called and equipped our congregation to provide. We are happy to welcome your family to our preschool program.

It is our mission to provide the finest in early childhood education, to prepare your child for Kindergarten and to direct attention to moral values through a focused Christian educational program. Our daily activities include play, stories, music, art experiences, Biblical lessons, reading and math readiness activities, field trips, and class visitors.

We believe that each child is a unique gift from God to be cared for and encouraged to reach his/her potential in all aspects of life. We respect your beliefs and welcome children from all religious backgrounds and denominations.

All adults can help children grow and learn by being a model for children to mirror. Please remember that a child’s first and most important teachers are their families. We are always open to your suggestions and concerns. Please feel free to contact us at any time.

Visitation

Interested persons are always welcome to visit Little Lambs. You may tour our facility, observe our classrooms in action, and meet our staff by contacting our Education Director, Kerri Thompson, at littlelambsks3@gmail.com or by calling her at (717)687-0523. Children are welcome to visit our classrooms at the same time that you do. To arrange an evening visit, please contact the Education Director.

Security

Our preschool is located in a secure area of High View. Doors are locked at 9:15 a.m. and remain that way until we bring the children to their parents in the lobby for dismissal.

Classroom Visitation Day and Parent Information Meeting:

The week before preschool starts there will be a classroom visitation day where you and your child visit the classroom together. At this time we will also hold a parent information meeting to explain our program in more detail. During the meeting, childcare will be provided for our playgroup and preschool children in the classrooms.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

Individual conferences are scheduled in March or April for the Pre-K and 3 Year Classes. During the school year, conferences may be held any time the parent and/or teacher feels there is a need.

Special Needs

KidSight Vision Screenings:

Early detection of certain types of childhood eye problems can prevent permanently decreased vision and make a big difference in the life of a child. VisionCorps’ KidSight screenings address these concerns by providing free vision screenings to children ages 2-5 in local preschools, nursery schools and other settings. Vision Corps currently screens over 5,000 preschool aged children. The KidSight Vision Screenings are held every November.

Preschool Early Intervention Program:

The Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit (IU 13) has a Preschool Early Intervention Program. The program serves children 3 to 5 years old who need specially designed instruction due to developmental delays. If you are concerned about your child’s progress, please arrange a conference with his/her teacher.

There is no cost to families or caregivers for Early Intervention screenings, evaluations, or services. For children determined eligible for Preschool Early Intervention, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed to determine the appropriate supports and services. Early Intervention services must be delivered in the setting(s) consistent with the educational needs of the child. Services may be provided in settings such as, but not limited to, local childcare centers, community preschools, Head Start Programs, specialized settings, or in the home.

If you think your child may need Early Intervention services, please call the IU Referral Hotline at 717-606-1601 for Lancaster and Lebanon counties or toll free at 888-745-0771.

For more information, please call 717-606-1738 or email specialeducation@iu13.org.
